About ISOO

Message from the ISOO President

Over the years, the International Society of Oral Oncology (ISOO) has attracted a significant number of new members. Established in 1984 as the Society for Clinical and Experimental Oral Oncology, ISOO has played a pivotal role as the international platform for healthcare professionals interested in a multidisciplinary approach to oral supportive care for cancer patients.  Most recently, ISOO members  have both published evidence based  guidelines for the management of oral complications of cancer therapy and created numerous patient care fact sheets and videos, translated in to over 20 languages for global use. Our platform has expanded into being world leaders in Head and Neck Survivorship in focussing on the fundamental roles of pre-habilitation and rehabilitation of the head and neck cancer patient for better outcomes.  Recent collaborations with the European Society for Bone Marrow Transplant ( EBMT), the American Society of Clinical Oncology ( ASCO), the National Cancer Institute PDQ ( NCI PDQ) and many oral medicine societies across the world  have increased our international impact.
